Worry - Fear - Jealousy
Excerpt by © Alfred J. Parker, Course 4, Lesson 8

Worry, fear, and jealousy are the exact opposite to happiness, health, and achievement.  There are two things about which you should never worry:  firstly, that thing which can be remedied--go straightway and mend it; secondly, that which cannot be helped and over which you have no control--take the lesson which it gives, send a thought of goodwill to all concerned, hold no malice, and put the problem out of your mind.

Every situation holds a lesson to be learned.  Fear is lack of faith in yourself or in the Universal Consciousness.  When you realize your oneness with the Universal Mind, you gain strength from the mental association, for it broadens your concept.  A ride in a plane far above the earth will help dispel pettiness and give you a greater concept of the vastness of nature.  It will lift your sights, and you will no longer fear the petty things about you.

Jealousy is nothing but an inferiority complex.  If you know you have the ability to attract and hold those whose friendship is dear to you, you need have no fear.  But remember, you can always hold others better by letting them go than you can by being too watchful or intent upon keeping them within range.  Human nature loves freedom and resents compulsion.  The more freedom you allow others, the more glad they are to return to you.

Love without possession is the great secret of a happy life.  Give without measuring.  Your reaction will be happiness and peace of mind.  Do not criticize.  It is evidence of a caustic and fault-finding mind and is not to be associated with happiness.

A sense of injustice, no matter how apparently justified, is one of the most destructions emotions.  Never allow it to register.  The moment you admit hurt feelings, you admit weakness of mind and subservience to the one you accuse.  Refuse to admit it.  Cease to punish yourself for the mistakes of others.  Be generous and kind in your thoughts.  Fear no one or any experiences.  Use the Spiritual Principle and know that you are the captain of your fate.

What a Wonderful World - continued from the March issue
© Excerpt from Kabalarian Writings

The minds of humanity can be motivated out of their static state of self interest and their purposeless pursuit of pleasurable experiences by awakening that latent creativity of Reason waiting, dormant, within every spark until the mind is stirred into interest through the expression of Reason on a Conscious plane recognized by its logic, practicality, applicability, and its common sense quality of intelligence.  This state gives rise to inventions, discovery, scientific progress, and the discovery of knowledge.

Mental development faces two basic problems.  The first is the human limitation of being tied to instinct through feeling.  The second is not having the conscious insight automatically of understanding the potential, purpose, and fulfilment of each human being.  This understanding would provide the clarity of one's purpose and the steps required for individual fulfilment.  Without it, humanity waffles in a sea of confusion and desire.

Humans exist in feeling and instinctive responses until their minds are developed and taught to reason above their feelings.  Controlled and channelled feelings are a supportive power to the mind, but uncontrolled feelings constantly force instinctive responses upon the brain, making the mind aware of feelings and subject to responding in thought relative to the feeling.  A developed mind using reason causes nerve signals of control to resist the registering of impulses of feeling and override instinct with intelligence.

In life forms endowed without the reasoning capabilities of humans, instinct is necessary to provide the quality of intelligence required for survival and existence.  Without language through which to reason, all life forms require the guidance of Reason expressing through the natural laws governing the pattern of life created by Reason in the first place.  Such life forms know not why they act as they do, nor perceive the bigger picture of the universe.  They maintain the static expression of the pattern of Reason on earth, slowly adapting to the changing qualities of intelligence expressing through the cycles of universal time.

Humans are linked to instinctive Reason through the sympathetic and autonomic parts of their nervous systems.  The central nervous system is the human doorway to conscious growth, providing the avenue for Reason to develop to a conscious level of awareness, unfolding the potential of the universal spark initiated with the first breath.

The plan and pattern of life is balanced and beautiful when expressing instinctively the creative power of Reason.

Human mental expression can either add to that balance and beauty of life or interfere in ignorance of the plan and pattern, causing discord, distortion, and ugliness.

People till the earth, but if they do not understand the bigger pattern to life, they can cause disasters in the environment, distorting the delicate balance of nature in irreparable ways.  Being freed from the binding patterns of instinctive behaviour and slightly awakened through the implementation of language, the human race struggles out of instinctive obedience into partial mental freedom.  Without the guidance and control of instinct to govern actions and direct development towards the fuller expression of Reason, humans blunder along, living in an awareness of feelings close to the instinctive intelligence or survival, using their reasoning abilities on a limited scale to improve their lifestyle, motivated primarily by self interests and selfish desires.

Today, we have a beautiful world being destroyed by the distortions of selfish interests that direct humanity through emotional desires to plunder the earth in a vain search for a reward that will continue to elude them until Reason is brought into full expression.

...to be continued.

Name Analysis

CURTIS, BUD, HUNT, ANDERSON, HORTON, WILBURN, LEOLA, JUDITH, CAROLE, LORAYNE, CORALIE, ALASTAIR, ORSON

These names give people expressive, outgoing natures. They enjoy socializing and making others happy. They do not like to be in conflict with others for very long, as they are forgiving and not inclined to hold a grudge. They will do their utmost to help others in need, despite inconvenience to themselves. Being very affectionate people, they thrive on tenderness, appreciation, and encouragement. They can be easily hurt and become despondent over unkind words or criticism, yet a word of support lifts them once again to happiness and optimism. They do not like to be unhappy, yet they do experience changing moods--optimistic one moment and in despair the next, perhaps giving way to temper and intolerance. As soon as they express their frustrations, they regret their outbursts and want to make amends.

Their desire to help people could take them into service industries in any position where others are benefiting from their actions. Being very impressionable they feel the suffering of others and experience anxiety and stress as a result.

As they do tend to scatter their efforts, they leave many projects unfinished because they become restless when confronted with monotony and boredom. It is bothersome for them to apply system, order, and discipline, as they prefer to act spontaneously. This impulsive quality has not allowed them to experience success in certain aspects of their lives that require attention to detail, but they are perfectionists when it comes to activities they enjoy. They would be happiest in any position where there is freedom of thought and action and where they can express sympathy, inspiration, and creativity. They love music, art, and drama, and could excel along these lines as they have clever, imaginative qualities.

It is important that they develop creative outlets, or otherwise their sympathetic, emotional natures could lead them into many affairs of the heart. Creative outlets help to discipline and channel thoughts and feelings into constructive pursuits. They love deeply and must guard against possessiveness and jealousy, and resultant losses in the affections.

They are fond of home and family and must be careful not to be over-indulgent with their families or to worry excessively over trifles. The monotony of housework and household chores is often left until they are forced to take action.

As this name makes them high-strung and temperamental, problems could result in nervous troubles. Indulgence in rich foods could cause an over-heated bloodstream and skin conditions.

Questions?

What is the Kabalarian Philosophy?

The Kabalarian Philosophy was founded by Alfred J. Parker in 1930. He was a universal yet practical philosopher always seeking the reason or principle behind the experiences of life. After he discovered key basic laws of mind, he lectured, wrote, and taught these principles in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Presently the Kabalarian Philosophy is studied in centres in Western Canada, in California, in the Netherlands, and by correspondence students around the world.

The Kabalarian Philosophy is non-denominational; it is open to all people seeking a logical understanding of life. The philosophy teaches the following principles: how mind is created and balanced; how the balance of mind influences health; how cycles govern the cyclic unfolding of mind through time; and how mental development towards a more universal perspective can be achieved through applying these principles in your life.

In established centres, there are ongoing classes in all aspects of the Kabalarian Philosophy. Weekend workshops are offered to correspondence students to gain this understanding in a more concentrated study format.

Earth time is measured in segments of the revolution of the earth in its solar orbit.  The Cyclic Law measures the relationship between the universal (earth) cycle of life and each person, pertaining to each division of time, using the Mathematical Principle.  It is not the gravitational influence of a distant planet that guides one's destiny.  It is, rather, the specific, individual relationship to the power of universal intelligence unfolding through the rhythmical sequences of growth, which can be recognized in the plant cycle as:  seeding, germination, sprouting, basic root development, rapid plant expansion, budding, flowering, fruition, and resting.  Every division of time expresses a relationship of these qualities.  Mind can use the understanding of these cyclic qualities of intelligence to create progress and control actions fully to utilize the potential expression of the specific qualities of time.
