Holiday Greetings

We extend holiday greetings to friends, acquaintances, and associates around the world.  Every culture has a special time for celebrating the spirit of life, a time for  acknowledging the intelligence power that allows life to exist in the first place, and a time to think about the privilege we share as human beings in life's vast unfolding potential. These celebrations often bring greater goodwill and forgiveness and opportunities to give and to share with others.

On the other hand, others in less-fortunate circumstances, struggle at these times.  Why don't each one of us take it upon ourselves to do something that will help someone in need during this holiday season.  Small effort on the part of many can make a big difference in a city's ability to feed the homeless, provide shelters, and provide solace to those in need.

Mr. Alfred J. Parker, the founder of the Kabalarian Philosophy, had a motto he lived by:  To live is to give, and to give is to grow.  As we learn to live outside our world of self and learn to give, we grow to become compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others.  Many other realizations and opportunities will present themselves.

Let's work together to contribute in some small way in order that we make the holiday season reflect the true spirit of generosity.

Human Nature Can be Changed
© Alfred J. Parker, Excerpt from What In a Name?

(During Mr. Parker's lifetime the reference to man and mankind had a universal meaning that included both sexes. Today there is much greater emphasis on identifying the separate sexes in order to clarify their equality. Rather than alter the original writings by changing all such references to humanity, humans, and humankind, we ask you to interpret these references as universal terms that include both sexes on an equal basis.)

If we agree with Abraham Lincoln's statement that "all men are created equal," what then happens in the lives of men that results in wealth for a few, sickness and poverty for many?  What is the cause of the thousands of experiences and stimuli that shape our lives?  Is their occurrence haphazard, or is there a reason for the pattern of our lives?

At birth we are as animals, and therefore equal for a brief period of our lives; we remain as much until we begin to respond to our given names.  From this milestone onward our minds begin to develop, and therein lies the inequality of man.

Different names give us physical and mental characteristics.  For how else can we differ from our fellow man?

As infants our bodies are the same, we have the same fears, loves, desires, and hates; but with the establishment of our names, personality and strong desires of likes and dislikes begin to manifest.

All our happiness and sorrows, hopes and despairs, health and sicknesses, successes and failures are instilled in us by our individual names and nicknames.

All that we are, and ever will be, is contained in the letters of our names.

It is the manifesting power of the name that had created the vast inequality of man.  If our names are balanced and we follow the laws of nature, we are better able to reach our potentialities.

If one's mental powers are fully developed, what more could be desired?  Equality of opportunity, equality of wealth--all the equalities would be added unto him.  He would receive his just rewards in this age.  Health and happiness, bodily needs and comforts, a suitable environment--all would be his.

Name Analysis

ERNIE, STEPHEN, CHESTER, GRANT, IAN, HANS, BRYAN, GARY, SAM, KARL, DARWIN, GRAY, HALL, BLAIR, SALLY, LILLIAN, IRENE, DAWN, BABS, LYDIA, SHAW, KENNEDY, PATRICK, BERNEY, DARCY, KIMBALL, REGGIE

These people are positive, independent, and self-confident. Being self-assured and self-reliant, they are naturally inclined toward operating their own businesses or accepting opportunities where their love of freedom is not curtailed. They are very determined, and positive in opinion, and resist taking direction and advice from others. Their standards of quality and efficiency are high. Having everything under control is important to them as it reflects their capable, serious natures. They can be depended upon to do any job well and they will often carry out undertakings themselves instead of accepting second-rate jobs accomplished by others.

Devoting some time to helping those in less fortunate circumstances is important to them. They have a forthright, matter-of-fact manner that others turn to in times of need. They are staunch in friendship, and others can depend upon them for guidance and assistance.

They take their responsibilities seriously and have a deep appreciation for the family and the home environment. Managing the home, caring for the family, and expressing their creativity in practical pursuits around the home are important to them. They prefer a simple, uncomplicated life where they can apply originality and ingenuity to express their creative talents. If given the training, they could develop musical and artistic skills.

Although they are extremely devoted to their family and friends, it is not in their natures to express emotional sentiments. It makes them feel awkward and embarrassed when they are drawn into situations requiring sympathy and understanding, or where lavish affection and compliments are expected. Self-consciousness and lack of expression limit their abilities to give in this way.

Their love is shown in what they do for others, in their sense of responsibility and dependability, in the sacrificing of their time to be of assistance. They candidly say what they think and this quality, combined with their diligence to look after the rights of people, can cause others to think of them as being interfering and bossy, or lacking in tact and understanding. It is sometimes challenging for them to listen to and understand the viewpoints of others because their own opinions are strong, sensible, and rational. They do not change their minds readily.

Being relaxed and spontaneous in social or formal situations is sometimes challenging. They appreciate time on their own. Their accomplishments give them a great deal of satisfaction, and involvement in social activities can sometimes make them feel that they are wasting time. They are practical and steadfast but at times too limited in their personal opinions and ideas.

Health weaknesses of these names centre in the head, resulting in such conditions as headaches, sinus problems, or weak eyes. They have a tendency to worry far too much over obligations and responsibilities.

Questions?

Why does the name affect all aspects of my life?

The name represents the mental pattern that stimulates specific qualities of intelligence, and can be constructive or destructive. Destructive mental weaknesses have an impact on our lives, limiting our full potential. Some of us express the destructive qualities of being stubborn, self-centred, blunt, egotistical, or domineering. Others are limited by the destructive characteristics of indifference, passivity, or negativity. Qualities such as being argumentative, intolerant, and scattering have never created understanding or happiness. Being discontented, small-minded, chaotic, or moody all diminish our success and overall health. Whatever the negative qualities we express, we are undermining the harmony and balance of which we are capable.

These mental weaknesses are linked directly to the unbalanced name. By changing to a balanced name, a name harmonized to one's inner potential, we can build greater positivity into our thinking and happiness into our lives.

A balanced name is the starting point in the process of developing mental freedom. As we become mentally free of destructive patterns of thought and habits, we will fulfil the greatest potential of mind: to express wisdom and harmony in our words, deeds, and thoughts and bring our ideals into reality.
