Visualization, a Facility of Mind

Visualization is a facility of mind, which focuses mental energy into a concentrated form of thought, which can be so strong that the thought can cause the sense to respond as if stimulated with finite physical sensations. For instance, a rose visualized can be seen with varying degrees of clarity, the fragrance and the soft, velvety touch sensed to the degree of sameness as if done physically. Such focused thought draws on the vitality of the body. If the mind visualizes the extraction process from the breath, it can direct the body to respond to the energies contained in the breath, to absorb those energies into the entire body system, and to transform that breath power into vital power within each cell of the body. This concept can be adapted to each of our breathing exercises in order to get more out of each breath.

At the start we must focus our attention to train the mind to get all possible energy from each breath and, in due course, such extraction will take place automatically with only a minor degree of awareness to keep the thought active in getting maximum power from the breath.

Visual your lungs responding like a balloon. Each inhalation fills the lungs to the stretching point and each exhalation deflates the lungs like an empty balloon. With each breath, the prana flows into the solar plexus, energizing it and setting it alight. As we take each breath it should strengthen that light within and we should shine with the universal power of life, letting it show in our eyes and in our verbal expression.
