The True Spirit of Christmas
The true spirit of Christmas is the expression of Universal Consciousness in the form of universality of mind. The power of spirit is constantly manifesting as "life" through the process of involution and evolution. The highest form of life is the human species, humankind, who is capable of conscious expression through the usage of the Power of the Word or language.
The true spirit of Christmas is the spark of life or spirit energy having become involved in life through the birth and breath of a new-born instrument, now evolving back to universality of mind to merge once again with wisdom.
Christmas should be celebrated as the Principle of Life with due respect for the refinement of mind as it searches for truth and wisdom. The evolution or growth of mind incorporates the knowledge and understanding of the physical, mental, and spiritual laws to which humankind is subservient.
The spirit must have constructive expression. The exchange of gifts and the observances of many kindnesses at Christmas provide the opportunity to express the universal law of service to humanity. "To live is to give," means that as we give constructive expression to the spirit within us, it begins to "live" as a spiritual power in reality.
The true spirit of Christmas is the greatest gift we can give: the understanding of life and the steps to individual spiritual attainment. The next time we say, "Merry Christmas", let us mean "constructive living" and "the joy of spiritual accomplishment."
